Effective consultation has unlocked many of our projects. Listening and learning is a key part of the briefing process.
Throughout their careers, both Joanna and Nick have carried out consultation with groups from schools, youth clubs and communities, using a variety of methods and media.
Joanna was trained in community engagement during a 'Cultural Enterprise Training' course by Hackney-based charity Freeform Arts Trust. Joanna and Nick have also taken part in initiatives such as Archikids, organised by Open City. This scheme encourages young people of neighbouring boroughs to discover the City of London’s fantastic buildings and architecture.
Whilst at Nicholas Hare Architects, Nick undertook extensive consultation with the local community during the design development of the Central Somers Town project. Multiple stakeholders attended events and contributed to the masterplan.
